Kid Girl Fleece Jackets & Layers

Obermeyer has been making performance outerwear and base layers for young skiers since 1947, made for warmth and a fit that keeps up with them.

Fleece That Layers In and Stands Alone

The Comfy Cozy Fleece Jacket works as a standalone top on warmer resort mornings or a reliable mid-layer under a ski shell when temperatures drop. The Superior Gear Zip Top and Ultra Gear Zip Top work the same way: zip-front construction makes staying comfortable easy during active ski days, and the fitted silhouette slides cleanly under outerwear without bunching.

Sets That Simplify Getting Dressed

Coordinated fleece sets take the guesswork out of packing. The Comfy Cozy Set and Comfy Cozy Cargo Set pair matching tops and bottoms that are built to move and layer together. For parents building a fuller layering system, the Ultra Gear Bottom and Superior Gear Bottom work as standalone mid-layer pieces under ski pants or as cozy options for lodge time and travel days, and they pair cleanly with any zip top.

Why Buy Kid Girls Fleece

  • Layers or stands alone- the Comfy Cozy Fleece Jacket works as a mid-layer under outerwear or a standalone top on warmer days

  • Coordinated sets - the Comfy Cozy Set and Comfy Cozy Cargo Set match top to bottom so the whole kit matches without thinking

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I look for in a kid girl fleece jacket for cold weather? +

A full-zip mid-layer with a snug fit holds warmth best in cold conditions, and the Obermeyer Comfy Cozy Fleece Jacket. Look for flat-lock seams and a chin guard at the zipper to prevent irritation during active wear.

Are fleece sets worth buying for girls instead of separates? +

The Obermeyer Comfy Cozy Set and Comfy Cozy Cargo Set pair matching pieces designed to move and fit consistently together, which makes them a better bet than mixing pieces that weren’t designed together. Sets also simplify packing for ski trips where kids need reliable warmth across multiple days.

What is the difference between a zip top and a fleece jacket for kids? +

A zip top is typically a lighter, more fitted mid-layer designed to go under a shell, while a fleece jacket is thicker and can function as an outer layer in mild conditions. The Obermeyer Superior Gear Zip Top and Ultra Gear Zip Top are designed as base-to-mid layers.

How do I size fleece bottoms for a girl who is between sizes? +

Size up when in doubt, since a roomier fit allows for base layers underneath without restricting movement. The Obermeyer Ultra Gear Bottom and Superior Gear Bottom are designed with an active fit, so checking Obermeyer's size chart by height and weight will give you the best fit.
