Klaus Obermeyer, on Monday Dec 2nd turned 100 years old. The Aspen Skiing Company honored Klaus' legacy of being an original ski pioneer in Aspen on Saturday Dec 7th at the base of Buttermilk Mountain at the Bumps restaurant. Aspen Skiing Co. President and CEO Mike Kaplan presented Klaus with a one-of-a-kind 100 year Skiing Company pin and the trail sign in his honor.
“This mountain will forever be touched by you,” Kaplan said. “We don’t (rename trails) often. I don’t think I’ve ever done it. This mountain needs to bear your name forever more.
