Kid Boys Snow Jackets

For over 75 years, Obermeyer has made snow outerwear built for real mountain days,  the kind where conditions change and kids don't stop moving.

Find the Right Fit for Every Young Rider

Not every kid wants the same thing out of a snow jacket, and that's exactly why this collection covers the range. The Ashor Jacket and Altair Jacket are the core options here, cut generously enough for active kids without going sloppy as they size up. If your child is younger or just prefers full-body coverage with no gap at the waist, the Quinn One-Piece is the better call. The right call depends on how your kid moves, what they're doing on the mountain, and honestly, what they'll actually keep on all day.

Warmth and Weather Protection That Doesn't Quit

The Orb Jacket and Ashor Jacket use synthetic insulation that holds warmth even when things get wet, which matters when kids are out for a full day, not just the morning. Without the bulk that slows kids down on the hill, kids stay comfortable whether they're charging groomers or taking a break in the lodge. Taped seams and sealed construction keep moisture out at the shoulders and cuffs, where wet snow tends to find its way first.

Why Buy Kid Boys Snow Jackets from Obermeyer

  • Full-body coverage - the Quinn One-Piece eliminates the waist gap that lets snow in during tumbles
  • All-day warmth - the Altair Jacket balances warmth and mobility for active all-day skiing
  • Wet-snow protection - the Orb Jacket features a powder skirt to block snow during deep-snow play
  • Wet-weather durability - the Ashor Jacket holds up through slushy spring days and heavy snowfall without breaking down
  • Room-to-move fit - every jacket is cut for active kids without sacrificing technical performance
  • Color variety - the Ashor, Altair, and Orb Jacket all offer bold colorways kids will want to wear
  • Easy to build on - pair any jacket with Obermeyer's Snoverall bibs and Kids' Thumbs Up Mitten

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I look for in kid boys snow jackets? +

Prioritize waterproofing, insulation, and adjustable cuffs or hems that seal out snow during active play. A jacket with a powder skirt, like the Orb Jacket, adds meaningful protection when kids are falling and moving in deep snow.

How warm should a boys ski jacket be for resort skiing? +

For resort skiing, synthetic insulation rated for cold and wet conditions is what you want. The Altair Jacket is built for exactly this use, offering warmth that doesn't restrict movement on the slopes.

Are one-piece snowsuits warmer than jackets for young kids? +

One-piece suits eliminate the waist gap between jacket and pants, making them warmer and more weather-resistant for younger children. The Quinn One-Piece is designed for this reason, keeping snow out during tumbles and active play.

What age range do boys' snow jackets typically fit? +

Most boys' snow jackets are sized from toddler through teen, with fit based on height and chest measurements rather than age alone. Checking Obermeyer's size chart is more reliable than using age as a guide since kids vary significantly in build.

How do I know if a boys ski jacket is waterproof enough for a full day on the mountain? +

Look for a waterproof rating of at least 10,000mm and sealed or taped seams to handle wet snow over several hours. The Ashor Jacket is constructed to meet this standard, making it a reliable pick for long days when the weather doesn't cooperate.
