What is your warranty policy?
OUR WARRANTY POLICY
We guarantee that the materials and workmanship in all of the products we make will stand up to the use for which they are designed. Any defects in the materials or workmanship are covered for the lifetime of the product. Our warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, or the natural breakdown of materials over time. If you need any repairs for these reasons, we would be happy to do them at a reasonable charge. Just call us and ask for “Customer Service.”
It is very important to us that you are completely satisfied with our products. If you have a problem with an Obermeyer product, please return it to your Obermeyer dealer and they will make arrangements with us to take care of the problem. If it is not convenient for you to take your Obermeyer to a dealer, or if your local Obermeyer dealer cannot help you, please call us and ask for “Customer Service” and we’ll help you out. We will repair or replace the garment at our discretion. Repairs usually take about three to four weeks including shipping time, but this can vary at different times of the year.
If you need a small replacement part like a zipper pull or compass, we may be able to simply send the replacement part to you. Please have the product on-hand when you give us a call and ask for “Customer Service.”
You can reach us any business day between 8:30 and 4:30 Mountain time. Just call 800-525-4203 and ask for “Customer Service.”

If the item is from our current line, you can find Obermeyer dealers who ordered what you need by clicking on the “Search For Product Availability” link on the product’s detail page in the “Products” pages of our web site. You may also email us at customerserv@obermeyer.com and we can help you to find dealers who ordered what you are looking for.

How do I clean my Obermeyer Garment?
CARING FOR YOUR OBERMEYER OUTERWEAR(Jacket, Pants or Suit)
You may wash your Obermeyer garment whenever you feel that it needs to be cleaned. If it’s looking dirty, or if water is soaking through the shell fabric, then it’s a good time to launder it again.
Your Obermeyer outerwear has two lines of defense between you and the elements: our DuroGuard DWR finish on the face (outer) side of the fabric, and our waterproof/breathable coatings or laminates on the inside of the fabric.
Our waterproof/breathable coatings and laminates will last for the lifetime of your garment with proper care. All such coatings have microscopic pores that are too small to allow liquid water to pass through, but large enough to let water vapor to escape. Dirt and grime can disrupt the waterproofing and breathabilty by clogging the pores, which lets water soak through and also prevents water vapor from escaping. Careful cleaning and drying will reopen these pores and restore the effectiveness of our coatings.
Our DuroGuard DWR (durable water-resistant) finish is applied to the face side of our outerwear fabrics, enabling it to resist penetration by water, oil, and stains. Despite it’s name, it does lose it’s effectiveness with wear and exposure to ultraviolet light. If you splash some water on the outside of your garment, the water should bead up and roll right off; if it doesn’t, then try careful washing and drying to restore the DWR finish. If careful cleaning does not restore the effectiveness of the DWR finish, you can reapply a DWR finish yourself.
Here’s how to properly wash your Obermeyer garment to restore its appearance and function:
o DO NOT DRY CLEAN (most removable faux fur trim should be dry-cleaned only and not put in the washing machine, while some faux fur can be gently hand-washed. Check the care tag that is attached to the removable faux fur piece).
o Unzip all of the zippers and turn your jacket inside-out.
o Wash in COLD water separately.
o DO NOT use fabric softeners or bleach.
o Use a non-detergent cleanser, or a very mild powder detergent - see our recommendations below.
o Minimize soap usage - better few bubbles than too many.
o If you are using a wash-in type of DWR restorer, add it to the wash cycle.
o Use your washing machine’s GENTLE cycle, or hand-wash.
o Rinse very thoroughly; better yet, rinse it twice.
o Gently squeeze most of the water from your garment - DO NOT WRING. Wringing the water from your garment can cause the waterproof/breathable coating to separate from the inside of the shell fabric.
o LINE-DRY your garment until it is completely dry. DO NOT hang your garment over a heat source to speed drying - this can damage your garment’s fabric and the waterproof/breathable coating.
o If you want to restore the DWR and did not use a wash-in type, you may apply a spray-on DWR restorer after washing.
o Liquid detergents can clog the pores in the waterproof-breathable coating. Use a powdered non-detergent cleanser; if one is not available, use a very mild powdered detergent, and use it sparingly - powdered detergents rinse more thoroughly than liquid detergents. Gently rinse your garment thoroughly, preferably twice. We recommend:
o Nikwax Tech Wash, a non-detergent cleanser for most outerwear.
o Nikwax Down wash, a non-detergent cleanser for outerwear insulated with down.
o You can find your nearest Nikwax dealer through their web site: www.nikwax-usa.com .
o If you cannot get a non-detergent cleanser by wash time, we recommend using one of these mild powder detergents sparingly. Dreft White King D
o The DWR restorer can be the wash-in type, but most are spray-on types. Your Obermeyer dealer or your favorite outdoor shop may have recommendations for products that they have used. We recommend Nikwax products:
o Nikwax TX-Direct Wash-In, added to your wash cycle; for most of our outerwear.
o Nikwax TX-Direct Spray-On, used for garments which have our Hydrophobic Mesh lining.

CARING FOR YOUR DOWN-FILLED OBERMEYER JACKET OR VEST
Washing a down-filled Obermeyer garment is pretty much the same as washing any of our outerwear. Here's how to properly wash your Obermeyer down-filled garment to restore its appearance and function:
o DO NOT DRY CLEAN (most removable faux fur trim should be dry-cleaned only and not put in the washing machine, while some faux fur can be gently hand-washed - check the care tag that is attached to the removable faux fur piece).
o Unzip all of the zippers and pull the flannel-lined pockets inside-out.
o Wash in COLD water separately.
o DO NOT use fabric softeners or bleach.
o Use a non-detergent cleanser, or a very mild powder detergent - see our recommendations below.
o Minimize soap usage - better few bubbles than too many.
o If you are using a wash-in type of DWR restorer, add it to the wash cycle.
o Use your washing machine’s GENTLE cycle, or hand-wash.
o Rinse very thoroughly; better yet, rinse it twice.
o Gently squeeze most of the water from your garment - DO NOT WRING. Wringing the water from your garment can cause the waterproof/breathable coating to separate from the inside of the shell fabric!
o Place your down garment in a dryer ON THE LOWEST SETTING. Dry it with some tennis balls or a clean sneaker to break up the clumps of down, but do not place anything else in the dryer.
o If you want to restore the DWR and did not use a wash-in type, you may apply a spray-on DWR restorer after washing.
o Liquid detergents can clog the pores in the waterproof-breathable coating. Use a powdered non-detergent cleanser; if one is not available, use a very mild powdered detergent, and use it sparingly - powdered detergents rinse more thoroughly than liquid detergents. Gently rinse your garment thoroughly, preferably twice. We recommend Nikwax Down wash, a non-detergent cleanser for outerwear insulated with down. You can find your nearest Nikwax dealer through their web site: www.nikwax-usa.com .
o If you cannot get a non-detergent cleanser by wash time, we recommend using one of these mild powder detergents sparingly. Dreft White King Do The DWR restorer can be the wash-in type, but most are spray-on types. ALTERATIONS AND CUSTOM PRODUCTS
Everything that we make is mass-produced and we aren't able to make alterations or create custom-fitted products. If you need alterations done to your Obermeyer product, your Obermeyer dealer or local outdoor shop may know of a local tailor or seamstress who is experienced in working with winter outerwear. We cannot stand behind other people’s modifications, but your Obermeyer garment will otherwise still be fully warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship.
Our preschool products do incorporate our exclusive ‘I-Grow’ system which allows your child’s garment to ‘grow’ one full size so you can increase the longevity of the garment’s fit. Please refer to each individual garment for ‘I-Grow’ system instructions. We also incorporate our proprietary extended wear system (EWS) in our junior’s pant styles.
